Dawg Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 got an 03 cobra and want to side exhaust the car; but my hold up is i have a lower chassis stiffener ( about 1" round) that i have to work around. any other suggestions? i want to keep under the sound limitations too! THANKS. Quote
marshallmosty Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I used Dr. Gas frame clearance tubes. They can pretty much make anything you need. It gives approx 0.5" more ground clearance versus standard round tube. I used it to clear my torque arm mount. Quote
Dawg Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 thanks man wish i had the time to be in depth like most of ya'll. i wanted to run side exhaust because i seem to be having trouble out of my irs overheating. scared of the solid axle; since i'm used to the irs. don't want to be bopping around the place on the curbing and so forth; from what i've heard. i seem to like the curbs sometimes. 99cobra2881 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Do you have a diff cooler setup on the car? Quote
Dawg Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 i meant to say that i did. with a pump and fan. i mounted it on the rear bumper. cut a hole where the cobra badge was and mounted the diff. and trans. cooler there. i guess it doesn't get much air flow. tried putting a scoop underneath to bring air flow up but didn't exactly help. i don't want to move everthing up front; but might have to. 99cobra2881 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Air has to be able to get out of the trunk somehow for the ducts/fan to be effective at cooling. I've removed the trunk seal and am considering drilling a few holes out of sight on the bottom of the trunk lid to help vent air out of the trunk. Quote
