Pardsbane Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Hello, I'm trying to figure out the schedule for HPDE events in the North East. When I go to the main Nasa website and choose events, and then Northeast, I see a list of events, but they aren't all HPDE, are they? How do I figure out what type of events they are? I also found this page: http://www.motorsportsne.com/2007/events/events07.htm Are these the only NASA HPDE events in the NE? Are there any others further north, like at NHIS or Watkin's Glen or anything? I'd really like to attend an HPDE this year, but I'm not sure Pocono is close enough for me. Thanks, Josh Quote
nasaregistrar Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 look here: http://www.nasanortheast.org/schedule.htm click the event you are interested and look at the details. Quote
Pardsbane Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 So I have to check each event's description. It looks like the first event is broken, I get: Cannot process template!file error - Cannot find template with requested name (event_reg::error_message) at /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/OpenInteract/Template/Process.pm line 162. When I click it, but the Pocono's are too far away anyway. Thanks! Quote
beerkat Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Find the track that is closest to you and check their event schedule. You can find an open event that will fit your time frame. I run with different clubs as do many other NASA members. Quote
99HOSS Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Pardsbane - If you clicked that first event at the NASA-NE page, for March 30 at Pocono, it has expired, that is why the error. Where are you based out of? There are events from Watkins Glen, to Summit Pt, at Mid-Ohio and even VIR. Held by the NE, MA even the SE. Quote
Renntag Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Where are you located? FWIW: I checked all the event dates in the list for the Glenn and they all worked and included HPDE. Keep in mind as posted above, there are auto clubs that run HPDE events as well. porsche, Audi, BMW, SVTOA, Mercedes, Mazda, and many others that arent brand specific. Also, just because Audi for example is hosting an HPDE, it doesnt mean you have to own an Audi to participate. You will have to join their club, but that is all. Welcome to NASA and dont hesitate to journey to more distant tracks once you feel more comfortable with HPDE events. Quote
Pardsbane Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Yeah, I figured out what I was doing with the schedule.. thanks! I'd like to do a NASA HPDE, but the BMWCCA is doing one that's at NHIS, so I might go there for my first event. (But I don't have a beemer) I guess NASA doesn't do A/X in the Boston area huh? I've been going to SCCA events... -Josh Quote

Renntag Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I believe sean is right. You dont need to own a BMW to participate. I think you just need to be a member and register in time. Quote
