How long do your rotors last (willwoods)??

Mine seem to be only lasting 2 weekends or maybe 3-4 hours total track time. What do you all see??

Damn expensive rotors at over $200 a piece for them to be replaced 5-6 times a year at least.

Are you seasoning the rotors? What do you have for brake cooling? What pad compound are you running on the rotors? Some more info would be helpful.

Sorry, good points.

Single ducts through the openings on base of car (with spindle duct attachments). Not seasoning overly (first session of day do normal break-in and then pull-in). Pads have been willwood J compund I believe.

Ditch the wilwood 2 pc rotors if possible and step up to a 1.10"x13" DV30 or DV32 Coleman rotor with a TCE hat. I'm almost certain that they're better then the Wilwoods you're running now, will last longer and are probably cheaper too. I dont know much about the Wilwoods, do they mount the caliper in the stock location or is it offset inwards? Hopefully, its in the stock location so you can use the TCE/Coleman setup.

If you already have hats, just order custom rotor rings from Rory at Coleman. All rotors are "custom" from Coleman anyway, but you only have to fax in the dimension sheet the first time. That's what I do for my Baer setup. The Coleman rings last a *lot* longer for me and are cheaper than the Baer replacements, even though I pay the extra fee for stress relieving. The Baer rotor rings would crack on the inner edge before they showed more than very light heat checking.
