Dave,

Thank you for the heads up information.

As for 944 spec, could we maybe try to get a feel for who is going?

We need at least 5 starters to make it official, correct??

I will be there, who else?

Thank you,

At least four entries must be received by September 1st, 2007 for a class to be eligible.

I know of at least one spec car here in the East that will show. So that makes 4 already. You have a National Spec Champion in the making.

I also plan on competing at the Nationals. My new 944 Spec car was faster than the I Class record at Mosport at the Upper Canada DE this past weekend. OH! I have to divulge that my son was the fast one not me. There were four 944 Spec cars there and about 8-9 drivers had a go at them. All were very enthused about the cars.

I'm officially in - much thanks to my wife who is giving up another fun time so I can make it. Spent the night pulling parts off the car to get it down to weight! We will have a class!

The 944 Challenge parking offers 2 choices, either under the Big Top tent or out in the open. These spots are all in the same area of the paddock. The tent will have electricity and lighting.

Best part of the reserved parking is that it collects all the 944 nuts in one place.

I am now officially signed up. I thought I had already, but it must not have gone through, because I was not on the entry list and didn't get a confirmatory email until I redid the registration now.

I noticed that only Jason W. is currently signed up for spec besides me. Let's make this official, guys!

Random Safety Inspections @ Nationals

One NASA person will be doing random river safety inspection on pre-grid and also pulling in cars at random after all track sessions.

They will be checking for these items.

1. Helmet for SA 2000 and condition

2. Nomex socks

3. Holes in driving gloves and shoes

4. NASA Patch on driver’s suit

5. Balast in car is secured.

6. Harness and window net is not out of date

7.Fire ext is OK and in drivers reach

8. Right side window net is in place

If any violation is found the car will be escorted to impound and the violation log filled out and the violation fixed before the car is allowed back on track.

Fines may be assessed by race officials. If fine is assessed race official needs to let tech know so that the fine is paid before the car is released.

All official compliance dyno run results for Nationals are paid for by NASA and are the property of NASA. They will not to be shared with drivers. Drivers will be informed that they pass or don’t pass.

If a car does not pass, then in private NASA will look into the penalty part of the equation. All dyno sheets will be collected by Scrutineering and kept on file for the length of the event. From there, NASA will collect the information for use in building a database for a long term data collection project.

Dyno compliance checks at Nationals will take place for a predetermined group of 944 Cup cars.

Question....Right side window net? Is there some requirement in NASA now for those little triangle head restraints or are you talking about a window net on the passenger side? Greg F
