Keep in mind everyone else qualified is welcome to participate that weekend in the regular TT group, which this is one part of.

I agree. I especially like the "No Pushrod Rule." Now some racing series like to keep the classes in the small bore range, so a no V8 or nothing above 4 Liters is understandable. But when you go into engine design restriction, you are definatley trying to single out certain car makers.

These guys are definatley going after the import tuner crowd, I wish they would have called the competition according to what it is!

I watched the TV coverage of last years event. Booo! What pised me off is that they kept comenting that these are the "fastest" TT'ers in the US, and these are the "fastest" cars from NASA. By the way their times were not impresive.

First, perhaps you guys can't read, but if you look at the top of the TT website, it says NASA Time Trial......presented by Super Street. So, keep your comments civil and accurate. "Time Attacks" as developed in Japan, have always differed from "Time Trial" in that the focus is different. While Time Trial competition attempts to focus on a competition between drivers with rules that attempt to lay an even playing field among classes, Time Attacks have always been about a competition between tuners trying to push their cars to the limits with minimal rules that would equalize the cars. The drivers in Time Attacks tend to be chosen by the owners because of their past history of winning, while the drivers in TT tend to be the owners themselves. Yes, Time Attacks are mostly about imports, and import tuning. If you don't like it, oh well--that's why we have our TT competition for everyone. Time Attack cars are usually built by companies/factory support/etc., and the best ones cost more than $200,000. And lastly, Scott, the winning times in the Time Attack at Buttonwillow beat our track records (of our TTR and TTU cars) by 3-5 seconds. So, yes, the good ones are very fast.

Now, this event is a NASA TT event, but they use it as a qualifying event to get into the SS Time Attack Final at Buttonwillow in November. So, obviously, all of our drivers are welcome to compete regardless of your car. No, you can't qualify for the Time Attack at Buttonwillow if you don't have a Time Attack legal car. But, you can still take your American Iron out there and show them how to do it American style.

I dont think anyone is complaining about TT , TT is awesome! What about the porsches, are they all banned? If they do that it may as well be called Asian Import Time Attack. If it's just based on Japanese why make rules and then change them when somone (german) wins? I dont know the details, just asking. And what happened to my other post?

I was looking at the "street car" classes as a comparison, since the unlimited cars are just that, $200,000 cars. I don't think anyone has that much in our cars, not even in TTR or TTU, so I don't think it is a fair comparison. Most of their "street cars" have enough modifications to bump them up to TTU anyway.

I did not realize we were sponsord by SuperStreet. Is't that one of those magazines with the bikini girls standing next to the cars? Summer is comming up! We could use some bikini girls at Buttonwillow.

My mostly plastic and aluminium "American Iron" shall make an apperance at BW. Making lots of noise, handicaped with a ton of weight, and my driving. I do have moments of brilliance but they rarely last for a full lap.
