944-Spec#94 Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Well, The July 7th Night race got cancelled so we have a free month in July. Of course there is always something to replace it How about a nice trip to Cool Colorado? NASA Rocky Mountain is hosting an Event A Peublo on July 21-22. Should be really fun event plus we get to meet up with our often snowed in 944 brethern. BTW... They may think it is warm, but by July and thing under 100F is COOL for us Arizona guys! Also remember the next Az points event will be Aug 11-12 at Willow Springs. Quote
Weston Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 It would be great to have you guys come out and race with us! Quote
Chuck T. Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Dave and I are working on making this cost you guys a little less money also !!! We will let you know how much ASAP! Tim what would it take to get some of you guys to come out ? Chuck Quote
chris_venturini Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 [napolean dynamite voice]heck yes[/voice], we would love to see how well we stack up against some of you guys that have been doing this for a while. Quote
nhamden Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 (edited) My plans are to be there. The last time I talked to my old 911 racing buddies from Denver, they said they would come down too, so bring some extra 944 spec cars and maybe we can get the 911 racers to switch over to 944's. As far as 944 racers, Glenn isn't sure at this point in time, but we will get as many AZ guys as possible up there. Edited June 10, 2007 by Guest Quote

bpanther Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Just to wet your whistle a bit... We'll get a little later start on Saturday AM (10AM??) which should help with those that are making a haul. This is because of the drags on Friday night don't leave us a lot of time to get get setup. Saturday will be a full day from the 10AM start till 6pm when we take a dinner break. We will most likely have a practice/qual/main race format. Then we plan to have a 2nd annual night session on Saturday. I'm working the details, but figure 7pm-9pm (1/2 hour of dark). And, yes it will be dark once you get off the lighted drag strip. At 9pm, the band (TBA) will fire up and entertain us while we bench race at the "Post Checkered Party". Plenty to eat and drink (ask any RM participant if they've ever gone away hungry) Sunday will be a full day with our normal practice/qual/heat race/main race format. Bring the family and spend a few extra days. The Chyeanne Mountain Zoo is a very cool place and is just 1/2 hour north of the track. Lots of other neat things to do as well. Quote
bpanther Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Ok... time to start beating the bushes. I've already got cars coming from AZ (GTS), time for 944s to represent. 944 guys, please contact me when you go to register so we can work out the details on the 1/2 price entry fee. Quote
Utah944 Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I just registered so who else is in. It looks like there can be some track time to buy on Friday for $100 for the day or $60 for 4 hours. see the nasarockymountain forums for more info. Quote

Weston Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I'm in, but unless I sell my white Acura soon, I'll be on basically stock suspension, so I'll be easy prey for you guys. I was planning to at least have a bigger rear sway bar, but instead I just got ticketed for committing the most serious crime in the recent history of the small town of LaSalle, Colorado... I didn't come to a complete stop at the town's one stop sign, in the middle of the night, when no one at all was on the road. Moral of the story: avoid small towns at night. Quote
chris_venturini Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 let the excuses pour in! i have the best one of all, my car doesnt run! Quote
nhamden Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 I have a pretty big dent in the side of my car and my dent fund is empty, can I come up with my right rear wheel being out further than the fender, it resembles a Formula 1 car with a 225x50x15? I am borrowing a porto power to see if I can get the body back to were it was and Glenn has a gold door that might match, so I am still planning to make the haul. Quote
Utah944 Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Norm- Just be like Jesse W and take out a sharpie and right "Previous Damage" near the dent and all is good. Quote
944-Spec#94 Posted July 6, 2007 Author Posted July 6, 2007 Or do like Glenn on the war wagon. Put a decal over it! Quote
chris_venturini Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 body damage? you'll fit right in with everyone else out here Quote
bpanther Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 body damage? you'll fit right in with everyone else out here You can't count Chuck backing into the wall as body damage. He did that all by himself. What have you guys had in the past 6 races? 1 body contact? And it *barely* met the 50/50 rule. I think that's pretty good!!! Quote
