FS: 1990 Miata--SOLD!

Hi everyone,

I have Ken Williams' old SSB car, a 1990 Mazda Miata. Its entire life has been as a track car, starting as a Press vehicle, and then sold to F1 Michelin Tire Engineer Ken Williams to race in SSB 90, 91, and 92. He had the engine balanced and blueprinted by Yoshimura, the motorcycle racers, because they were thinking about getting into miatas. They never did, so it's the only engine they ever "built." It has a cage, a hard top, and is blue with a white stripe down the middle. The suspension setup is an absolute dream. This car rotates perfectly, and attacks apexes like nothing I've ever driven (and I've owned 4 miatas.) It has 76k original miles. I have the original 14" flowers with no tires and a set of 15x7 wheels with Khumo MXs. I was planning on building it up to a Spec Miata, but I am going back for a Master's in Manhattan, so the last thing I need is a car--much less a race car.

It has done dozens of track events and makes a quick, reliable, trackday car, or it could easily be built up to a Spec Miata. Own a piece of history! $4,000.

Update (22 Jun 07)

The Air Force decided not to let me leave to get my masters, so the racing is back on. However, I found an amazing deal on an already built Spec Miata, so this is still for sale. I've swapped out the wheels on this car to a nicer set (Team Dynamics Pro Race Two) and there are a brand new set of Azenis with less than 300 miles on the clock.

The car was a victim of vandalism this weekend, and the rear window is now smashed out. It will cost $350 for a new one, so the car is now available with better wheels and tires, but minus the rear window for $3500.

Update (23 Jun 07)

Car is sold, as is the hard top.

Still have the cage... it's a bolt-in SSB cage configurable from 4pt roll bar up to 6pt cage by just adding a few bolts.

$250

You really need to PCS to Edwards AFB, Los Angeles AFB, or Vandenberg AFB. Three nice race tracks within an easy drive. You will be spoiled!

Congrats on the SM, they're sweet cars.
