My 88 seems to not have a sensor on the intake manifold like 2 other 88 cars have ? my engine seems to be a 87 for the most part but it has the wiring for an extra sensor . the intake one i'm talking about is near the brake master cylinder. ?

thanks

i have a connector coming from my wiring harness that goes to nothing.

2 other 88 motors have a sensor mounted on the intake manifold (near the brake master cylinder) mine does not ?

what does the sensor do?

That's the connector for the electronically controlled "positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) " system, unique to the 88's.

That sounds like something I don't need ...

Well, all the other year models get by without it. We just have to understand the purpose for its install. It improved something. Maybe nocturnal emissions?

sounds like an emissions thing, throw it in the trash, ie: the whole southern half of your garage

Jen thought that was funny ... Me not so much

That sensor you are asking about is a PCV heater. It was installed to help keep intake air from icing up in cold climates to help speed up the PCV system. You don't need it. It is a emissions part only with no performance gains at all.

Didn't your car come from the southern half of Chuck's garage?
