oil in intake

Ahhh, but it is not the same for everyone. Those with rings and cylinder walls in primo condition will have way less blow by than those with a season or two on their engines.

I do not personally believe that a crank scraper will make as much difference on a 944 engine as some other types. It already has a reasonable windage tray to stop the worst situation, where oil rushes forward under braking and is captured by the spinning crankshaft. I think that any power gained is actually just not losing power due to internal friction and heat. So you have a situation where an allowed, expensive mod ( 88 oil pan and baffle) could make more power than the same engine with a standard pan and baffle. My cost on a new late pan and baffle is $550. Allowing the inexpensive mods for your next rules go-round would seem to level the playing field for the non 88 pan guys. Greg
