Full Delrin bushings.. legal?

Hey guys..

 

first post.. I've been lurking for a while and close to having a car that will be racing sometime in the future (after replacing a motor which has a few too many horsepower). A friend had mentioned that the Delrin bushings are now illegal with the June rule change. The current posted rules just say non-metallic, which seems to make them legal. I'm wondering if he was mistaken and heard the conversation about the delrin/metal hybrid bushings.

 

I'm absolutely not trying to drag up what seems to have been a controversial set of rule changes... just wanted clarification on this point and try as I might with the search feature it just wasn't coming together.

 

Thanks for any info that might push me closer.

Non metallic bushings are legal.

 

Delrin is therefore legal. It has been that way since day 1 and was not changed.

 

At the start of 2007 the new 2007 rules got revised a bit clear up a few things. This was one of those areas. The rules linked on 944spec.org are the rules.

Thanks for the clarification. That's the way I was leaning... this PARTICULAR friend has a habit of mixing things up. =)

Welcome! good to see anoter Midwest car being built!. We had a blast at Mid-Ameria this weekend (full report to follow). Rob, what's you full name & and where in MN are you?

Come out and do an HPDE with us in NASA while the car is in the build. You'll see others in the same boat, like Ray Freunt this weekend, and you'll see some built spec racers as well.
