Downeybear1 (6:14:44 AM): id love all the norcal cars to dyno on the same dyno

theghettoracer (2:14:54 PM): i can have DNR host a dyno day easily

Downeybear1 (6:15:46 AM): good luck getting everyone to show up tho

Downeybear1 (6:16:05 AM): i bet it would only ever happen if there was a dyno at the racetrack

========================

if there's any interest i can organize a dyno day with discounted prices... at DNR in Hayward, California. in ground Dynojet 248C reliable and highly repeatable. plenty of parking on weekends and we can schedule it such that you can do some tuning too. not sure how the competitors feel about letting others know how much power they're making. but, just an idea. let me know what you guys think.

Well, spending money for what we personally already know is not a good solution. I won't do it for the fact that the cost and effort to get it to the dyno is substantial.

For instance, I would have to go to Fremont from San Francisco to pick the car and trailer up to bring it to for instance, DNR. That mean I have to spend about $50 in diesel, wear and tear of the truck and trailer and the cost for the dyno. On top of that I had to waste a day to just load and unload the car. No thanks.

Plus since all the cars are race cars, logistics would be a nightmare. The tow vehicles, loading and unloading.....

Last year at Nationals, everyone get dyno-ed free of charge. And since we already there anyway, it was a good way doing it.

There are only few dynos in the bay area. I don't think any of us have any secrets. I get my car dyno at Speed Element. They have record of my dyno. I'm sure you can dyno your car there to see what are the difference in the power if you are curious.

i agree with Andrie. being at the track and a free dyno is the only way i see it happening.

Im sure most racers don't care what the other cars are putting down but i think it would be fun and cool to eliminate the variance of different dyno's and compare all the engines on the same dyno.

Here is my proposition for those curious type. Since my car is dynoed at Speed Element, you guys should have your car dyno there too so you can compare the power.

Hey, they are also my sponsor. So I'm killing two birds with one stone

What is the purpose of this? Just to know what each other makes?

If you must know, we dyno-ed mid 140's for the .020 over LS H4 and 173hp on a completely stock GSR motor with gagillion miles. PM me again in 2 weeks when I have time to build the new H1 motor...and now, the blatant advertisement.

"For those in the sac area, visit Midnight Performance for your dyno needs!"

our blue h1 civic (#6 driven by Devin Raynal) has a 98spec Type R engine. Stock block and head with aftermarket cams.

we dyno @ Blacktrax in Milpitas. Stock it made 167/125. with cams it made 185/132. The car also weights 2360.

Our other red honda civic which will eventually race in HC has a stock jdm b16a (p30 piston). Stock block & head with ITR cams & manifold/tb.

It makes 154whp and 109 torque.

My K24 makes 378HP and 299 ft.lbs of torque to the wheels. See, that's why I'm so fast. You guys don't even have half the HP I make.

Not to mention I only weigh 2150 lbs

FartMachine is at 193/126. something isn't right for a high comp 1.8 it should be at least 135 ft-lbs... i blame the CTR pistons.

I'm running 98Spec stock as well. But I will be upgrading soon because I'm tired of watching you all walk away from me on the straights.

throw some cams in there and you should easily pick up another 15-18whp. upgrade your valvetrain too and you will be able to rev it slightly higher than stock.

see you guys at thunderhill.

ported the head and shave it .030" + cams, good header, you should be 200-210 whp on 1.8 fairly easily. DNR has done dozens and dozens of such setups over the years.
