Just thought I would take a second to say hello. I picked up a 1983 944 over the weekend in hopes of getting it ready for 944 Spec in 2008.

I've been working with the Rocky Mountain Region as the Group 2 leader since last year and it's time to get back into racing. I just couldn't let Chuck have all the fun! I've done some SCCA Club Racing here in Colorado (2002-2006) including running a 944 in ITS and a year of SCCA Pro racing in the Speed World Challenge (Touring Car in an SRT4). From the looks of the racing here in CO, the class is growing really well. I can't wait to join the rest of the guys.

Anyway, I'll be lurking around the forums and asking questions over the next several months as I get the car ready.

Rick is an awesome driver ! and will fit right in with our Fun loving group !

I'm hoping he wil bring 2 other drivers with Him and that will put Us well over 10 cars Locally !

Thanks fellow Rocky Mountain Drivers for making 944-spec the fast growing class that it is !

Way to go Rick !! I can't wait to get out there and learn how to drive with you guys.

Yeah, it'll be cool to have an experienced 944 racer out there with us. It should make for some really good racing, and a bit more collective knowledge...

Thanks guys, can't wait to get out there with you. Now I just need to come up with the money to finish the car. I want it done now!!! Oh well, patience is a virtue right?

Hey, Welcome, Rick!

The class is growing everywhere and we're glad to have people like yourself with some solid experience to help lift up the newer drivers.

Welcome back to racing (where you belong) Rick! I've seen this car on jack stands in his garage -- it's clean, needs a little love (he removed the rear drive shafts/CV joints last week and they were a bit grindy/gunked up)...trust that he'll build a nice track/race car and be a welcome addition to the RMR 944 crew!

In fact seeing his car, and talking with Rick and Chuck has inspired me to follow, so perhaps there will be another addition by next season...

With Rick, you, and now me (any others?) planning to race in RMR next year, we are indeed approaching the 10-car goal set by Chuck...lookin' forward to it for sure!
