chris_venturini
this discussion came up last night as to what years came with what transmissions and what the specs were on certain models and years. a quick search brought me to this website with all the information for the different years. interesting that even the 87 924s came with the short 5th but not the 87 944... http://www.connactivity.com/~kgross/FAQ/944faq02.html
Chuck T.
that web site says the 1987 944 has the same power as a 1988 944 ? 158 ??? it also says 150 for a 1987 924S and 160 for a 1988 924S ??? PCA rules don't seem to support this .
chris_venturini
yeah, weights seem off too. i just mainly wanted it for the transmission codes.
944-Spec#94
Sadly the FAQ are wrong on that site. The 87 924S had the same motor as the 87 944. The gearbox in all 924S cars where "short 5th types"
Tim Comeau
Also, in the Clark's Garage tranny code sheet, the 87-88 924S is not listed in the QK block. Edited August 21, 2007 by Guest
