rear passenger door windows on 4 door

Can we run something other than glass? i bought corey/morgan's h4 accord and i can see that it's going to be hard to get it down to 2525 lbs. also, having no window with a big hole there is kind of an aero dissadvantage compared to the coupes w/ the rear stationary windows.

does anyone know anything about this?

I would subbmit a rules request to let 4 dr cars use lexan plates for the rear doors.

Why? CCR's permit replacement of glass with lexan. After the weight, getting to run windows up is bonus points. Only downside is if you aren't a "known regular" in the region, someone might mistake it for glass and give you the meatball.

In H1, it IS legal to run Lexan in the rear windows. In H4, it is not legal! You can run a clear film or clear tap on the windows if your concerned about them, but that is all your allowed to do for now.

There was a request for the allowance of Lexan for the rear windows recently that was turned down.

i think the H2-5 guys should get together and petition together about lexan... it is one of those mods that makes sense since it is relatively cheap (if you just get it from tap plastics, DIY install) to do and saves a few lbs. just my 2 cents.

I don't see any need for lexan in H2 my car is already gonna have about 175lbs of extra weight in it as is. I think most the H2 weights are pretty easy to make so I don't think the extra cost/hassle is needed.

<-----Mike who likes his glass windows, they don't scrath and are easy to see through.

yah, i guess losing 5-10 lbs of body fat is FREE. =) it's a lot of work though. lol. my goal is drop 10 lbs by mid Sept. i'm 5'11" 170 lb right now i'm not fat by any means but by % i'm about 20%. it sickens me to think that i have 34 lbs of fat on my body. yuck.

so what is the big deal about lexan? is it harmful to our health? aside from keeping costs down, i don't see why it's in there.

the car was 2600 lbs with corey in it. getting another 75 lbs out of it is going to be a pretty nit picky, if not impossible task. there's not much left in the thing. the windows aren't even in it right now. adding all that crap in there including the window has to be 20-30 lbs a window.

i guess writing up something and sending it in wouldn't hurt. right now, it's just going to be the big aero disadvantage over the coupes.

No its not harmful, but the line has been drawn in the sand so to speak. And crossing it can lead to crossing it again and again and again.

If you say, hey its cheap and my car can't get down to weight. the rules committee says, "ok you are right it is cheap we will let you use it".

That sets the stage for the next guy to come along and say.

"i cant get down to weight, so can i want to use C/F hood and truck/hatch. they aren't that expensive you can find them for 100 dollar each used online."

Now the reasoning the rules committee let the first request through, should let the second request through.

The basis for H3, H4, H5 goes back to SCCA IT racing. But only for hondas the original intent, and theory of the class should be kept.

You aren't the only one in H3-H5 that can't meet weight.

This past year the weight on the 1992-1995 EG was dropped to 2200. My car and most cars i have seen can't make that weight. The lightest my car has been is 2246 after qualifying. I maybe had 2 or 3 gallons of gas in the car, the car can run with 1 or 1.5 in it. So figure i had an extra 14lbs of fuel in the car, but you can't always cut it that close with fuel, it sure does suck to run out on the last or second to last lap

I still have some stuff i can take out. Like the heater stuff, OEM door bars, and i think i could gut my dash some more.

But i have other things like HASport motor mounts, and a exhaust system that weights 10lbs.

I am going to put some effort into dropping weight this winter, and see were i can get it too.

Dude, get rid of your heater stuff. I took that out of my car. It weighs a lot! Kind of a pain in the ass though.

but when it is raining and the window is fogged up, i can take care of it!!!

The fact that i want to do enduro's with the car is the only fact that is keeping me from removing it.

there is another option that a friend did that i might try on a smaller scale..

right now, im still getting fast and should be able to go faster, so ill keep working on that
