cullen winter Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I searched and failed to find info, so.....since I live in the third world (northern New Mexico), products like Red Line water wetter are hard to come by. Is there a more readily available product (think checker, or autozone) that will suffice for my soon to be ethylene glycol free cooling system ? Are you guys putting back in regular antifreeze for the subzero portions of the off season ? Thanks Quote
JSilverman Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 lot of the bigger parts chains carry the stuff. I know that advance auto parts does. If you dont see it on the shelves, ask the parts counter if they can order it. The only other alternative that I know of is made by royal purple. I think its called purple ice. If you have any race prep shops in the area they probably sell the redline stuff. As far as winter goes, since I live in the east and it does get below freezing here, I drain the water, and add a 50/50 coolant mix. When the spring comes around I drain and refill with distilled and water wetter. Quote
ianacole Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 On Track performance out here carries it. I can get some and bring it to an event. Quote
Weston Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Check your local chain stores... In my area, NAPA has RoyalPurple's stuff for about $14-$15, and AutoZone has RedLine Water Wetter for $7-$8 but I never noticed it there until Chris_V spotted it the other night. Quote
Tim Comeau Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 What the hell are you guys talking about? Winter? Freezing? What is that? Don't you have racing temps of 100F to 120F out there everyday like us? Quote
