Woody Harris
The upcoming event at Willow Springs got me thinking about track speeds. The mantle of "Fastest Road in the West" may have passed on to the new extended course at Reno-Fernley. I don't know how acurately the new track has been surveyed, but officially Team Birkinsport's fastest lap equates to an average speed of 118 and change MPH. That in turn equates to a lap of Willow of about 1:16, and there is no way I can see us turning a 1:16 at Willow! It will be fascinating to see how it all shakes out. Incidentally, those of you who didn't make RFR missed a good event on what is becoming a great track. The management is very user friendly and actively encourages constructive criticism. Every visit we see continued improvement and anyone who can deal with the environment of Buttonwillow or Willow Springs will have no problem at RFR.
