There were a fair number of issues that held up the TT Rules from being published sooner. As you will see, the change in the supercharger pulley rule that we made on the initial 2008 PT Rules has been reversed. Supercharger pulley mods will now be treated the same as turbo boost controllers (+4 points). Note that there have been some base class increases to a few vehicles since the PT Rules v3.1 was released. All changes to the PT Rules that differ from the version released in December are in blue text to make them easier to identify (changes on v3.1 from the prior year are still in red). We have added in the base classes for a lot of the '08 models; however, we did not spend the time researching all possibilities. If you have a car model ('08 or otherwise) that is not listed, please send me an e-mail with the information, and we will get it classed.

The summary of the recent changes to the PT Rules is:

Panoz GTRA classed as a "spec car" in PTB.

DOT approved tires must be available for purchase by the general public through Federal and state licensed tire dealers.

Supercharger Pulley modification rule reversed from requiring Dyno testing, and the points were dropped from +10 last year to +4 this year (note that some base classes have been adjusted).

New method of measuring track width.

In addition to the above, the TT Rules have:

Deleted the ability for the Regional TT Director to waiver up to 7 points

Matched the points modification lists exactly to the PT listings except that we still have the mod point for the harness bar being used only for chassis stiffening, and not for harnesses.

Changed the TT Team rules--max of two participants/must declare the team before either driver competes in the class, etc (follows the CCR for racers essentially)

Added the option of an "Executive Committee" to handle appeals that would have gone to the NASA Executive Director.

Plus, all of the other changes that were made to the v3.1 PT classing rules.

The ST Rules just had the addition of the Factory Five GTM Supercar, and the Panoz GTRA and GTWC cars added.

Thanks for your patience. There were a lot of factors that held up the release of these rules.
