ss4 Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) Hello all, I have four Brand new TOYO R888's, full tread depth for sale. Only one was mounted for fitment before realizing they were too wide for my application. Zero miles on the tires and perfect condition. These tires run wider than the previous RA1's of the same listed size (about 10-12mm). Asking $1100.00 plus shipping or best offer. These tires sell for about $350.00 each. Thanks for looking, Brent 619-990-4093 Edited March 7, 2008 by Guest Quote
Mystic_Cobra Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Makes me wonder if the 275/40-17 R888 will be wider than the current RA1 of the same size... Quote

ss4 Posted March 3, 2008 Author Posted March 3, 2008 that's a good question because the RA1's and the R888's in my size listed to be virtually the same on TOYO's website. I have a feeling that all the R888's are wider... Quote
Members Ed M. Posted March 4, 2008 Members Posted March 4, 2008 So are you comparing 18" RA1's to 18" R888"s or 18" R888's to 17" RA1's? I'm confused - I would think the actual size of the tire would remain the same (if you're talking 17" vs. 17" and 18" vs. 18") - just different compound...? Ed Quote
Mystic_Cobra Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 No, if the R888 is wider than the RA1 of the same size, I'm just wondering if all their R888s are bigger than equivalent "sized" RA1s. I just happen to care about 275/40-17s bc that's my size. Quote
robbodleimages Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I will have RA1s and R888s mounted at Road Atlanta if anyone wants to stop by and give them a look. I've decided I am going to run our April 4th enduro on the R888's to get an idea of handle and wear. From reading comments, its seems the R888 is wider and brings better grip on excell and better turn in, but I have also heard that the sidewall is softer and gives the car a squirmy feeling. More air pressure or stiffer spring and shock settings may be required. Quote
