I was wondering how many of you guys have a specific checklist that you use to pack for events, and if you would be willing to share it. or point me in the direction of a good resource. I used to have one that I used for autocross. I just can't seem to find it.

I find my best checklist is simply written and modified regularly.

Are you looking for a list of basic track day items to bring along or??

BTW its alot like the autox list, but with spare parts and more tools.

I use a checklist. I can email it to you if you PM me your email address. It is in Excel form but I can pdf it for you too.

I am trying to create one. I guess I am thinking tools, fluids, etc that you must have. Stuff I might need to buy, etc. This is my first season competing regularly, and am just looking for advice from the vets.

trackaddict, thanks alot pm sent!

I plan on putting one together this week as I pack my trailer.

I have learned that the checklist will change depending on your available room. Plus, preventative maintenance can go a long way towards decreasing your reliance on spares. I bring them anyway, because I can often help other participants even if I don't need the part.

Oil, rotors & brake pads are always on the list, along with the tools necessary to do simple repairs (jack, jack stands, basic tool kit).

Here's a thought for your checklist...

It has always been my experience that whatever breaks (or goes wrong) with the car is something that I left at home in the garage.

In other words, bring as many different spares as you can possibly fit in your car/trailer/truck. Besides, if you don't need them, someone else might and you can save them the hassle of searching out whatever it is at the stores.

I have a simple list....

Load entire contents of garage into truck/car/trailer and head off to the track confident that I will break the one part I didn't even have in my garage!

Mine's even simpler:

VFC Motorsport.

Comes with a truck full of tools (not referring to Doug or his staff), scales, crew, shade, seats, cooler full of diet coke (thanks Robyn), food, data acq analysis . . . oh, and people to run to the dealer for spares if needed.

You bringing them to RA this weekend?

Not going to RA this weekend (what group is running this early?) You can call VFC to find out if they can offer support at that event. 773-275-4832.

Sorry got you confused with Allen there for a minute or two....he is coming to see us.

NASA-SE.... It's our second event. Our fist was over a month ago.

I got confused, too. BTW, RA=Road America. Road Atlanta is just another track in the US!

Come drive Road Atlanta with us in August and see if you still feel that way. We think it's something special; I'll bet you would too.

Posted

Road Atlanta is definitely on my to do list, but RA is the granddaddy of em all in NA.

RoadAm = horsepower

RoadAtl = "guts"

Good thing I have both.....

May 3 @ RA....Here I come!

We use a checklist for every event will share, if you send me your email address I'll send it to you.... currently in a word format.

Yeah, I haven't seen anything like that last turn at Road Atlanta before the front straight, you have to train your brain that you are not driving off the edge of the world.

Were you there this past weekend? It was fun in the rain on Saturday.....

Turn, pray, turn, pray, hydroplane, turn, gas, gas, gas, pray...... Pretty much the theme of the day.

That and running from tornado's all day long!

they had to change the turn for the motorcycles, they got too chicken with the speed and proximity to the wall

I learned another thing to put on a checklist for the track (and back home.)

Tie down your extra wheels and tires. No, I mean, really tie them down. I'm not kidding.

Thank you.

I found something to put on my "end of season" checklist:
