jmeris Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 If I were to run a B16a powered car in H2, would using a USDM Type R transmission be legal? Or must I use a B16 transmission to maintain legality? The USDM Type R tranny has the EXACT same ratios (& final drive) as the hydro B16a trannies. The only difference is that most hydro B16a trannies do NOT have a factory LSD. Since final drives and LSD's are open anyway, there would be no mechanical difference or advantage in trannies. The ONLY difference would be the transmission code/stamp. The Type R trannies are labeled: "S80" and the (hydro) B16 trannies are coded: "Y21"(94-97 Del Sol VTEC/JDM hydro B16's) or "S4C" (99/00 Civic SI, JDM SIR II) What's the verdict? thx jmeris (and no, I don't plan on running H2................yet ) Quote
slammed_93_hatch Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 g) Any OEM transmission from a particular series of engine may be used with the same series of engines. Example: Any B-series transmission may be used with any B-series engine. Only a Hseries transmission may be used in with a H-series engine. You should be fine. Quote

I'm an idiot I must've missed that part under THE H2 RULES. Sorry to waste people's time Quote
