Notes on this timer:

1) the cord between the receiver and display unit is very short we're talking from your mirror to inside door panel tops

2) Italian engineering hasn't found a way to permanently attach the receiver cable to the display unit. I think this might be a break-a-way mechanism in case you tape the display unit to your dash instead of the door and the cable gets stretched. At any rate, it is very poor design and you'll need to occasionally unscrew the cover and plug the cord back in.

3) The batteries inside are of a very special Italian size, which look better than most other batteries. I've only found the right size once, but luckily any disc battery that's 2.5v(?) will work, it just won't fit in the battery area exactly right, but it's not a problem as they stay put. The disc batteries are avb everywhere, including the Gingerman raceway gift shop and gas stations.

4) My lap times are on the timer, so at each track you'll see my time. Thus you will not be able to ever beat the indicated best lap.

On the plus side:

1) It's hands down the only timer not made out of Soviet-era technology[/url]. The Hot Lap and XT Timers are about 6" x 6" x 9", raise your cg about 1.43 feet, and put 3% more weight on your front tires. Look it up, it's a fact.

2) It will work with any signal beacon in the world (even lighthouses). I think I've only had to put up my beacon (included) once. Let other suckers use their equipment and forget it at the track.

3) It totally looks hot. If there were women at the track, they'd be totally all over you when they see your lap timer. Again, it's the only one designed in the modern era and by Italians, who know what's hot.

4) the short cord makes for easy packing

5) Come with an extensive library of lap times from tracks around the Midwest.
