Spec944 #143 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Registration is now open and it looks like we have 4 SP1 (944 Spec ) cars Me, Otto Silva, Parker and John Rickards. It would be great if someone from AZ or so Cal would make the trip so we have at least 5 cars. Quote
Big Dog Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I would love to come play. What are the competition requirements? Will my SCCA national license work with PCA? If so, I am in and may be able to get another one as well. Of course, I assume the tow money will be in cash at registration! Jim Quote

It would be great if someone from AZ or so Cal would make the trip so we have at least 5 cars. We have a 944 spec race at PIR that weekend so I think most guys will be doing just that. The other thing is many Az guys will be saving up $$$ getting ready for Miller. Jim, To run PCA you need to get a PCA medical. You may need a new one since PCA likes theirs to be 60 days old or something from the time off application. You can race any other time later on however. Your SCCA and NASA comp licenses will get you a PCA provisional so all you need to do is sit through a couple meetings and keep you nose clean and you get a full license at the end of the weekend. Car must pass PCA safety tech to be allowed on track. There are some differences in PCA, NASA and SCCA. Nothing major, but it is best to review the PCA club race rules just to besure. As for car prep/class rules NASA 944 spec rules are 100% applicable to PCA rules so you are competition legal. Quote
Spec944 #143 Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 Jim- it would be great if you could make it. All the necessary forms are at the PCA website (PCA.org). Quote
Big Dog Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I printed everything out. Lots of paperwork. I will not be going to Phoenix for the single event race so I will try to get everything ready for Viagra (er Vegas) baby. Jim Quote
