kostritzer Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Do you guys know what final drives are available for the B series cable tranny's(Y1, J1, S1, etc.) and where you can find them? Quote
slammed_93_hatch Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 http://www.specialprojectms.com they should have something, if something is out there. For some reason i don't think anything is out there Quote
kostritzer Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 is the link correct? It seems to be dead. Quote
0x1 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 It makes a difference whether you're talking 90-91 or 92-93 cable trans. In the 92-93 boxes, you can use any hydro diff and final drive from the 94-01 trannies, but it's not an option in the 90-91 boxes. I'd imagine you'll probably have a hard time finding a decent diff or a good FD gear for the 90-91 boxes, but I haven't really looked. Quote
kostritzer Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 I'll have to double check mine, I know it has a quaife in it already. Do you know what the trans code is that can use the hydraulic final drive? Quote
slammed_93_hatch Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 http://www.specialprojectsms.com/ sorry this one is correct Quote
mc-integra111 Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 You can use the same Quaife LSD in the S1 that you would use in the YS1 and hydro tranny. I have the exact same Quaife unit (part #160 I think, check Quaife's website) installed in both my 90 S1 and 93 YS1. The final drives in the S1 and YS1 are NOT compatible. I was not able to find anybody that makes a final drive for the S1. One guy who won the ARRC some years ago in an Integra had some custom ones, but they were around $1200 (and that was a few years ago). Quote
kostritzer Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Looks like my tranny is a J1, well at least it looks like the J1 that I took out of my car(the sticker was removed and trans was painted black, ugh). I was in Wisconsin recently to help tune an Exige, and coincidentally ended up at King Motorsports to use their dyno. I spoke to Scott there and he says they make one for my tranny, I just have to verify which one I have! BTW, that shop is super nice! All kinds of interesting Mugen eye candy! Quote
