onralz Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Motorsports hero video camera by Go Pro camera http://www.goprocamera.com/ Information here: http://www.goprocamera.com/index5.htm Great little camera. Comes with: Suction cup mount 3m stick mount with quick release pins. Comes with three sticky mounts. I've seen them used on helmets, bumpers, roll bars, etc. I have one on my helmet and it won't come off without serious and I mean serious prying. USB and video cable Video camera Batteries ( I suggest buying really good batteries for it. It does seem to drain them quickly) Performance: 30FPS and will hold 56 minutes of video on your 2gig SD card. Resolution 513x384 at 30fps Auto exposure and can be used as a camera with a 10 second timer included. 3megapixel camera also super lightweight. Here are some videos taken from camera. http://gopro.vsocial.com/ The only downfall to the camera I have seen is it's need for light and sound quality. It is in a waterproof container so the sound can be a bit muffled. What I did on another camera was drill a hole in the back of the container so that sound could be better heard. It loses it's waterproof to a hundred feet, but it still keeps off the race crud. As long as you point it outside, the lighting is fine. I just wasn't happy with it when I tested it inside at a go-kart event. It was a little dark which made the image look pixely. Outside it's fine as seen in the videos above. Retail $179 Brand new in box $165 shipped to CONUS. You can't beat a camera WITH a mount for that price. Plus you use an SD card (Not included but $18 at Best Buy) so you can put your video's on Youtube, or burn them to a DVD for home use. Very quick and versatile. Quote
jaje Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I've got one of these - good little camera but has to be used outside as indoor lighting is too low. Quote
onralz Posted April 26, 2008 Author Posted April 26, 2008 Sorry for the delay, I didn't check back here. It is still for sale. Jaje is correct, it works best in outdoor lighting. I just used one yesterday for a Lexus event for their new IS-F and we got great footage for them using it. Pretty cool. Quote
