roberth944 Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 We all had a great time this weekend at a very fun track. Jim,we hope you get your motor sorted out soon. There were 5 racers, 4 HPDE'ers, 1 time trialer with 944's. The HPDE guys hope to be licenced by summer time. My 1 year old son had a great time too(he loves cars). See you all next month at Buttonwillow! Rob http:// Quote
ExRacer Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Guys it was so cool hangin' out with all of you 944 Spec dudes and then gettin' to actually race against the Legendary Tim on the track. Without his hospitality and encouragement I would not have gridded up, and you all were so helpful telling me that the car would hold together even with the header problem and the (to me) strange noises. It's that class comraderie and helpfulness that shows why NASA and 944 are so rewarding to run. Our HPDE3 open passing progressions were a thing to behold and your answers to what you learned in the 2 days were textbook. Excellent work! Let me know how I can help you guys get your licenses. Although a coupla of you were a little loose on your cornering techniques, all of the 944 guys showed super improvement. These cars are so fun to drive! You all rock, beers on me at BW. I'll still need your help to get my rat cleaned up to your car levels. MD out Quote
Tim Comeau Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Mike, I'll ship a set of headers to you asap. No cost, just shipping. Let's keep building the class and let people know that there are 944's in SoCal that "STILL ARE SPEC." Quote
Tim Comeau Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Robert, Glad you got rid of that aftermarket short shifter. I had one from a previous owner on one of my 944's and felt that it was money really well wasted. STOCK is good. Lemme know if you need any stock parts! Quote
Coner211 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Thanks to all the Spec 944 guys that were so helpful and friendly at California Speedway. My brother and I were on a fact finding mission after my son told me he wants to run his 944 in the 944 Spec class. We learned and lot and I appreciate it. Stan Perry Quote
Tim Comeau Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Stan, Hope you can remember all the stuff we told you about the cars and the class. It was nice talking with you guys and we hope to see you again at a NASA event. Quote
