ViperRacer Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Maybe your right....ST1. We scaled the Car: 5 Gallons Fuel, 200 Lb Driver = 3,220 Lbs. Dyno (2007 498 RWHP) - Car Mod Factor (-0.2) = 6.26 ST1 I guess this is correct.....I didn't do so well in math class. Quote
Z06RACER Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 you need 5 "events" you can do 2 races and 2 TT events all in one weekend....thats 4 right there. then you need just one more "event" Quote

ngoldrich Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Kyle, You have it right. In one weekend (depending on event) you can run 2 or 3 races & 2 TT - giving you 4 or 5 of the 5. Not sure but I thought I remember reading somewhere this year only 1 TT counts towards your races unlike last year more could - which is correct 1 or 2 TT count towards the required 5 races? Set the precedent now before getting married to manage expectations LOL... Norm Quote
Falcon Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Here is my SU car - Porsche GT2 Evo Hope to see you guys at the Nationals... Norm Norm, I believe this is you in this video coming around me in the Carousel at the Nationals last year. Hot Nuts! Quote
ngoldrich Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Falcon, That was Tom Soriano in his 996 GT3R with a 996 TT engine - very cool car he has. Last year at the Nationals I was testing some new heads and had a problem so I did not make it to the last day. Now have a completely new engine - reliable again (as it was the first 3 years of hard racing)- yeah! Here is a cool in car video with data acquisition from a Sebring race a couple of years ago running 2:10's in traffic. The car is a bit faster now Scroll down the page and look for Goldrich Sebring GT2 and you will find it... Do a right click and saveas so you run it from your local hard drive... http://www.trackvision.net/gallery.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Here is my SU car - Porsche GT2 Evo Hope to see you guys at the Nationals... kingkyle Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Ok... the rules are 2 TT events can apply to the 5 "events". I might be able to swing this. Geez Norm... gotta love the sweet sound of industrial hairdryers. Kyle Quote
ngoldrich Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 LOL, Kyle very funny - I know what you mean... Norm Quote
PaganiZonda Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 Paganizonda, In 2000 I drove a WSC/LMP1 car. I ran the Oreca Viper in 2002 both Rolex & IMSA -Daytona 24 & 12 hours of Sebring - not Laguna... Norm Oh, cool! Which LMP-1 car did you drive? I'm guessing a customer car like a Lola or Courage? PaganiZonda Posted June 16, 2008 Author Posted June 16, 2008 Nice Viper Jonathan! Norm, it seems you've had a quite successful racing career, driving some really cool cars too! Quote
REDSLED Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Thanks Norm and Zonda. The Viper is a blast to drive, although it can be a handful at times. Quote
PaganiZonda Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 I've found an RX-7 down the street from where I live, and it could be a good ST-1 car. The reason why I've decided on ST-1: I want to do the Endurance races too. Quote
PaganiZonda Posted June 28, 2008 Author Posted June 28, 2008 I'll get a picture of this car up soon. It'll be a big project, but then again, it'll be a few years until I've got the team ready to race. Quote
PaganiZonda Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 Sorry I haven't got a picture up yet. I've been busy with my training regimen and cross country races. It may be a few more days. Quote
Weed Wacker Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 i remember those aurora's, my dad was on a team that raced you guys. They were a privateer team with a camaro. Irv Hoerr drove for them a little bit after he was done with you guys Quote
ngoldrich Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Very cool. I drove the car once it went into private hands. Who is your dad and what car did he drive? PaganiZonda Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 I used to watch Trans Am racing when SPEED covered the races, I believe Leigh Diffey was an announcer. Of course when I watched, it was the early 2000's when the Jaguar XK's were racing, not sure if they still do. Quote
Damián Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 My ST-1 car, 1993 mazda rx7. It has a ways to go before its competative at nationals with the hardware that shows up there, and the driver needs some work too Quote
ngoldrich Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Damian, I remember meeting you last year for a few mins. You have a very cool car. See you again this year. Norm Quote
