John Anderson Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Hello all, I was thinking on the way in to work today. Its hot, and alot of us are not as active in the middle of this weather as far as hitting the tracks go. In fact, it seems there are a few of us that are using this time of summer to attrend little details on our cars. So, to that I would like to offer up a saturday and sunday of open shop. Lets get it clear right away that my intentions are NOT to troll for customers, but I think it would be a great deal of fun, good stories coulkd fly around, maybe have some racing videos up on the TV, BBQ burgers and just have fun with our cars and each other. I could have the two lifts clear for your use, we have tools, some materials will made made available ( sheet metal, misc stuff...) for you to use at will, clean your parts, we have a degreaser agent that uses our air compressor that does a great job of cleaning the grime, drills, drill presses, sanders, grinders, snap on box full of all the tools you need ( just respect the tools, clean, and put back), jacks, stands, ramps... You could make use of some of our diagnostic equipment, leak down, compression, bore scope, ultravilet leak detector, relay tester...and the list goes on. It would be a great chance to stay out of the sun, work on your feet ( as to laying under your car on cardboard) take care of the little things you might have been putting off and have a good time with the others that might be here. I'll be working on our two race cars ( spec car in the build, Neals red turbo, and the AMW red turbo), our manager Stacy will be working on his race car ( the old AMW Gold/yellow NA car), so.......lthe shop will be open, first come first serve on the lifts... No date picked, so what ever is good for you guys will work. Take Care! Quote
PeanutinCA Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Damn John, now that's an offer? Hmmm, how do I air lift my car down to SD? Got any dent removal equipment? Cheers, Dylan. Quote
Spec-944#70 Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Dilly I told you that you should have bid on that "Paintless" Dent removeal in the auction!! Let me know the date and we'll see what we can come up with. Quote
PeanutinCA Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I think Eric wants to fit bumper car rails around his car before the next event? Quote
Spec-944#70 Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 I prefer to call them "Anti-Kangaroo" brackets!! Quote
Spec-944#70 Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 "What! No one is going to respond to Jason?" Jason I'm sure anyone from AZ can join the group for whatever weekend they decide. But your question is like that slow pitch drifter in softball just waiting for someone to smack it over the wall. So again is no one going to resond to Jason? Quote
Packfill Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 What a generous offer! It would have been perfect if it came three days ago, BEFORE I pulled the control arm off my car..... I am deciding what to do now. I can't decide if the contol arm ball pocket is in good enough condition to just change the ball, or if I will need a new control arm... Anyone got any advice on the matter? I could probably post a picture if it helps... Quote
John Anderson Posted August 27, 2004 Author Posted August 27, 2004 Hi Jason, Zonies, Alaskan's, what ever you are, your welcome. Has anyone an idea for a saturday and sunday for this? Quote
mfoley Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 John, This is a really generous offer. Thank you. I'd like to come if I can work it out with my schedule. Right now I don't have any good weekends to suggest because there are a lot of driving weekends coming up and I'm still trying to figure out how many I can attend. Mark Quote

He developed a kit and can probably tell you what to look for if the arm is too worn out. Quote
