Mazda FC build SU

And to think I had the only 3.8 powered FC.

Judging from the floorpan in the rear, it looks as if you have gone with a live axle, just curious as to why. Also, what transmission is backing that beast?

Haha thanks Yes its a Buick GN 3.8. I went with a live axle for gearing 4.11 was just to high. also the 8.8 setup is about 100 to 200lbs lighter then factory TII setup. Rears hung on a 3 link setup. Trans is a t5. I have a straight cut dogbox gear set for it that will soon be going in. Hope to have the car out in Nov at NJ Motor sports park for testing

Nice looking build! I have an SU FC that I am switching to ST1 as we speak, you can see the build and info here: http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=767875

With the 3rotor turbo I was 2450lbs wet not including driver...I could probably have saved another 50-75lbs if really necessary, but was already making ~540rwhp at 11psi and could have gone up to about 18-19psi safely. I decided though that SU was not a realistic battleground for me and I would be better served in ST1.

Let me know if you need any info on the brakes, suspension etc as I have probably (painfully and expensively) gone through some of the hurdles you will encounter on your build

That sucks to hear, but if that is the only problem to surface on it's first shakedown run, your not to bad off.

How about some updated pictures?

Hey guys some updates on the car been to a few events trying to work out all the bugs....

I run drifting event at englishtown raceway so just been shaking it down on the road course

Motor has been amazing. Other then few small problems with aftermarket coils taking a crap…..

I finally have the hydraulic E brake setup working no more shearing off the mounting bolts.

The car is super loose once it comes out due to panhard bar placement and overall suspension setup.

I’ve moved the bar so hopefully next event the car will drive proper…….

Over the past few months I’ve added a few things to the car one being a straight cut Dogbox transmission from G-Force. The trans is amazing but stupid loud!

The car seems to be ready nw for some real track days next season i plan to run in the redline time attack and few hill climbs

Anyways here’s a few pics of the car and a short video.
