Folks-

Please join me in welcoming Ian Cole as our new GTS National Director.

Ian was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany in 1968, moving to the United States in 1971. He currently works for a global Managed Services firm based in south Denver. He is married, with two boys (8 and 10 years old). Being a German native explains the predeliction to any German engineered automobile, however, Ian has had a long standing passion for Volkswagens, owning over 20 VWs since the mid 1980s. The current goal is to own and drive the fastest MKIV VW in the United States. This love for German vehicles is what originally drew him to the GTS Series – the universal passion for the cars among the competitors has made it a home.

Ian is entering his fifth year of competitive driving, starting with Autocrossing in 2005, and then moving to the ranks of road racing in late 2006. In 2007, Ian held a Chief position with the SCCA Solo Program, and was named as the German Touring Sportscar Series Director for the NASA Rocky Mountain region. His racing team, Wasabi Race Team, along with five other drivers from around the country, will be tackling the 25 Hours of Thunderhill for the first time this year as well, competing in the E0 Class.

Ian can be reached at ian-at-drivenasa-dot-com and by PM here at screenname ianacole.
