Charging for Dyno Impound?

At a recent event, I was told that if we were dyno'd for impound, we'd have to pay.

 

My gut tells me something is not right here. I guess if I was found to be illegal, Id be willing to fork over the $. But if Im found to be fully legal, that just aint right.

 

At every other event Ive been to, Ive been comp'd for dyno impound.

Well since you cheat, you'll always be found legal, so you won't have to pay!

I've never heard or have seen that before. If the series/race director wants to dyno you for compliance, they pay. If you get protested and are legal the protestor pays, if illegal you pay. You've already paid all your fee's when you paid your entry fee.

That was what the dyno operator told me, so the info might not be accurate.

Eric, next time let me know, if something like that happens at the NE event. I will make sure it is handled properly. Michael G.
