After a hard-fought season, RJ Racing has won the 2008 Western Endurance Racing Championship. The battle went down to the last race at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, the first 6 hours of which would count toward the WERC series as a double points event.

Going into the final race, RJ Racing's main rival in the E2 class, DivaSpeed, was 14 points ahead. And DivaSpeed was not going down without a fight. RJ Racing needed to win the race to win the championship, which is exactly what they did. With its usual fast and mistake-free pitstops led by Crew Chief Tim Gibson, strong and consistent driving by owners John Gibson and Rob Gibson, perfect fuel strategy and impeccable mechanical reliability of the #23 Mazda Miata MX-5, RJ Racing crossed the finish line in first at the end of the 6 hour event, securing its place on the top step of the podium for both the race and the championship. This is RJ Racing's second class win of the season and its seventh consecutive podium finish in endurance races going back to last season.

RJ Racing would like to thank NASA for a great championship. Special thanks to RJ Racing's tireless and dedicated crew throughout the season, including Norm Sandstrom, John Mueller, Bob Rinck, Dave Gibson, and Liz Givens, and also to its additional drivers for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill: Dion Johnson, Mark Powell, and John Mueller. We couldn't have done it without you.

RJ Racing is a Southern California-based racing team primarily competing in endurance racing and NASA's Performance Touring-E class. For more information on RJ Racing, please visit its website at http://www.teamrjr.net.
