YawMomentRacing Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 This racecar was built for SCCA A-Mod autocross. I have only autocrossed with NASA once and am not familiar with the rules so I don't know where this car fits in. Obviously everybody on this forum is a gearhead so I figured someone might be interested in this car. Keep reading for the description. I am selling my custom-built A-Mod racecar w/ spares. This car was built in 2001 by an engineer for Pontiac and has been primarily used as an autocrosser. The original builder intended to use a GSXR 1100cc motor, but put the 600cc engine in for initial chassis testing. This motor is still in the car, but a GSXR 1100 motor will bolt right in. I am the 4th owner. Previous owner purchased car for an F1000 conversion but bought an F1000 instead after he had bought this car. I am selling the car to focus on karting. Too much racing on my plate for this car to get any TLC. The car: - Weight: Approx. 650 lbs - Peak HP: 87 at 10,500 RPM - Custom-built mild steel frame - Powered by a 1992 oil-cooled Suzuki GSX600F Engine - F/R Pushrod suspension w/ 3-way adjustable coilovers - F/R 13x9 wheels w/ 22x9-13 Hoosier R25As - Tires are well worn, you may want new sneakers before the autoX season - Cockpit adjustable brake bias - Tachometer w/ shift light - Oil temp and pressure gauges - Hubs, knuckles, and braking system from latest gen. Toyota MR2 - Kirkey aluminum seat - Front wing mount (no wing, just mount) This car is seriously fun to drive. I have not been able to drive it much b/c I recently moved to Ohio. I took it to a local kart track in late November to get some seat time in the car and have some fun. I turned about 30 laps in the car with no problems all day. The engine starts, runs, and idles fine. No major problems. It has a small oil leak from the crank cover. The crank cover is bent from when it was in the donor bike. Spares/Extras (This is from memory, I will confirm when I get back to Ohio next week): - 7 unmounted Hoosier and Goodyear slicks (varying sizes and use) - F/R Pushrods w/ rod ends - 1 Halfshaft - Two rocker arms - Oil cooler - Lots of wheel studs and lug nuts - Wheel spacers - Speed chart that I made in Excel Price: $3750, Contact me at DOgburn (at) gmail (dot) com for questions.
