RACING/LICENSING SCHOOL

For those students wanting to take the next step toward head/to/head racing with either NASA or BMW CCA Club Racing, sign up now for our first Licensing school of the year.

It will be on March 7/8 at Willow Springs Raceway. Cost is $495 for the weekend. Prior experience is required. We plan to hold three Racing Schools this year, the next one will be at Willow Springs on May 23/24 and the last one will be at Buttonwillow on October 10/11.

I hate to state the obvious, but I'll add that you provide your own car. I've heard nothing but good things about this school.

I'm planning to attend the Oct. Buttonwillow weekend.

Gary, YOU are ready to race. You drive a great line. I was impressed with your ability when I rode with you. There was not much I could suggest to you about your line at Infinion.

Get out of HPDE NOW. Use the HPDE money to go to this school and go racing, my friend. I want to race with you on the track.

Hey, that's a pretty strong endorsement.....

Good on you, Gary!

I always tell new drivers that you really have 2 parts to your driving resume.

One is a written record of the events you've attended and how you've finished.

The other one, and argueably more important, is your reputation among your driving peers.

Sounds like you're off to a good start, Gary.

Thanks Jim,

I appreciate the advice, and I was planning to do just that, attend the first comp school this season. But life gets in the way and I won't be able to do any hard driving for a while. I'll spend my down time getting the car prepped and taking my son to HPDE. After all, getting him "on track" was my reason for starting this hobby. So, October school @ Buttonwillow will be the soonest I can get licensed.

I understand. I look forward to seeing both you and your son at the track this season.

For those that don't know, Gary and his son rescued my 944 soon to be race car that Ken Huey found for me from a Dennys parking lot and helped me get it back to Infinion. All of that on the first evening that I ever meet them.

That, gentlemen, is the 944 spirit.

Alright!

Sean Steele has committed to attending this first school at Willow in March.

Sean just broke the PCA TT 944 Spec track record at Streets of Willow!
