Lemming
I see the Racetech has a contingency program with Spec Focus and Rally. Has GTS approached Racetech to expand the program? Tim Proud Racetech seat owner
ianacole
I have not, but I'd be happy to. I'll see if I can track down some contact information.
ianacole
I've spoken with Alex at RaceTech and we are in discussions regarding a 2009 contingency. One of the details they would like to know as part of their decision making process is how many drivers are currently using one of their seats. So, please respond to this thread and let me know if you or if one of your competitors is using a RaceTech seat. Thanks! Ian

JSG1901
I currently use a Recaro but have considered Racetech serveral times (and continue to). If there was a contingency program in place that was for something other than money toward additional Racetech seats (assuming you would have to already have one to qualify), I would think a lot harder about them when it's time to replace/upgrade. In speaking with Alex, previous iterations of the contingency was a cash payout for winning with their seat.

ianacole
We're up to 7 seats in 5 cars, and 2 considering (3 including me).
dillehayd
I considered a Racetech (from apexperformance.net) before buying the SaBelt I have now. My cert is up at the end of this season and a contingency would make a big difference in my buying decision, for what it's worth.

J Smith
I'm in the market for a new seat right now, and a Racetech contingency would obviously affect my decision on which manufacturer to go with.
Snymo
When I actually get around to building my car, it will have a Racetech (maybe two) in it. Had one in my World Challenge car and it was a fantastic seat. The shop I work at sells them too so that's an added bonus! Rick
pmcrespo
I would also consider. Need an extra seat for the occasional passenger request at non-race events....
CARVAL Motorsports
I would also consider a new seat. I was planning on using my MOMO contingency from the National Championship, but after sending in the forms, I have yet to hear anything in return or recieved anything, so.... Yes, for all at Racetech, GTS is far reaching and many of our racers also compete in other clubs. Could be one of the best series to consider for an effective contingency. DGrande
Ian, I've got a racetech in my car. For those of you considering one they may be tough to find. All local Colorado shops were out of the model I wanted- I called Racetech and they said it could be 2 months before the next shipment came in. I found mine the 4009 halo wide at Discovery parts.com. A month ago he had 10 in stock.

dillehayd
Any movement on this? Since my car was modified by an ASC driver at MSR: I'm going to need a new seat to go into the new car being built.
ianacole
Ugh!!! I haven't heard - I'll give Alex a call tomorrow and see if a decision has been made. Will you have it together in time for the Rocky Mountain/Texas showdown in June?
