Does pass window need to roll down.

My current car (mitsu 3000gt) has a small problem where the motor for the passenger window is broken........ and being a rarish car the parts alone cost $400 to fix it. I was just curious if it needed to roll down for the car to pass inspection at HPDE.

Thanks

RockAuto.com lists reman window motors for $150. You should try to see if you can find the rebuild parts and do it yourself for less. Ford Mustang PW motors are rebuildable for $10 in parts, so there's no need to buy an $80 reman motor assembly.

Were manual windows an option that year? If so pull the parts out of a junk yard and convert it.

I have a baseball bat that you can borrow.

Ya i wish parts for a 3000gt were as cheap as a mustang . They never made manual windows at all for the 3000gt that i am aware of. My car is the base model for the model year and it has them as standard.

Ya ill check out that site i was just quoting what the dealership told me it would cost when i called them.

In most cases: dealership = assrape

I occasionally buy parts from my Ford dealer, but only if it's imperative that they are OEM Ford parts or if the parts stores just don't stock them.

Our region has been reasonable when it's raining to keep passenger window up and thereby reducing the puddles in teh back seat. Otherwise it's mandatory both windows down.

Agreed salvage yard is the way to go. Some places you just call up and they'll have Larry go out in the yard and pull it for you. Which is nice because sometimes these types of things can be a total pain in the arse. Larry on the other hand goes out there with his tools of mass destruction and rips the door assembly apart to get you the part. Cutting torches, big hammers, prybars..... Larry don't care. His job is to get you that part in no time because he's got better things to do
