Welcome, first off, I am from LI too! Huntington Station. I used to race at Riverhead Raceway 1994-1998. I now reside in Eastern, NC and race with the NASA SE Region. With that said, here is what you need to do. You can race wheel to wheel with your truck provided it meets the current CCR safety regs.

Now, you have two choices, either use a street car for all of your HPDE sessions until you are cleared to run without the need of an instructor ride along OR, install a passenger seat in your truck, along with the required safety equipment for your passenger and just use the truck.

Getting to the point of wheel to wheel competition could be a lengthy process or could come quickly. The key is to be patient and enjoy every lap.

Get up with Joe Casella who is the NE Region Director and get out to the track!!
