Optimal Ride Height

Trying to find a good ride height for my 350z...No Rules involved...The car has coilovers and see's daily driving duties.

1"-1.5"

IMHO optimal ride height is... whatever you can get it crossweighted to, without rubbing/scraping/hitting the bumpstops. This could be lower on the right rear than everywhere else, or higher for your street driven car than for a full-on track car, so it's hard to put exact digits on it. I wonder if you could find a baseline to start from before hitting the scales, perhaps from a Z specialist? You need a measurement like floor to frame rail or hub center to fender lip, not amount of drop from stock.

Thinking out loud,

depending on suspension design you may not want to go very low - geometry is a bitch...

Thanks guys...I have looked every where from wheel cntr to fender lip...I have stock floor to lip specs, but not much else...I have the proper equiptment to put the car back into the proper alignment, but I can find a "don't lower it more than 1.5 inches because..."

Hopefully someone knows.

Have you checked any of the 350 specific sites? You will likely have to wade through some misinformation on them, but if you are careful about who you trust they will be far more likely to give you some better chassis specific information that we can.

Its all up to you man, I can get about a finger between the bottom of the fender and the top of the tire on mine and its tracked hard. You dont want to go to low that you have to worry about transition changes or whatnot.

100% depends on the car. Check out the motorsports section of some 350Z forums for your best answers.

Thanks everyone...and thank obzezzed350...I tried looking at the 350z specific forums, but you guys know how that is...50 posts of "I dropped mines 3 inches"...I lowered about 1"F 1.5" rear had it corner balanced and aligned, runs great.
