Melrose
We are building a 2001 Corvette for a customer. We are trying to determine classification for the car. Should I post this in PT or ST. What's the major differences? Owner is a rookie and will probably end up running the car in SCCA Super touring, but we want to build it so he can run in a NASA class as well. Thanks in advance Chris

Melrose
Car at minimum will have - fuel cell, lexan windows, brake upgrade, dry sump, full cage. Will this car fit into Performance Touring with weight penalties? Forgive the ignorant questions, but we've never dealt with NASA olny SCCA in the past. Thanks
kbrew8991
SCCA T1 cars fit Super Touring 2 pretty well (afaik)

National Staff Greg G. Posted March 19, 2009 National Staff Share Posted March 19, 2009 Yes, that is true. Ken was just pointing out that cars with the wt/hp ratio of the TI Vettes slide right into NASA ST2. In this case, the car is probably going to have more power and maybe less weight, so it would probably be an ST1 car. Either way, look at the NASA Super Touring Rules for guidance, not the PT Rules. Melrose
OK thanks for the help. I will try and find ST2 rules online. Chris
