I might be able to make the trek out west for the weekend. I will know soon if I can get away from work, With the fall out for me for racing I am going to try to get as much in the spring as possible. I have a couple of questions.

1. Which race groups should I register in the racing or PRC? The PRC is $30 more?

2. Will there we a test day on Friday?

3. who is planning on running?

Todd,

Register for Racing and select the 944Spec option. You also should then be able to select the Supersize option .

We are struggling to make 5 racers this time so 1 more will be welcome. I'm planning to go, not sure who else are the possibles - Contact Ken Huey -- he should know.

(The Pixar bunch are being wimps and not coming due to some party for the latest film )

todd, the fall is out for you racing? september is in fall, right? no nationals for you?

My wife and are excepting our second tax deduction in september. depending on when he or she is born. I will not be making it to thunderhill as I am having engine issues and need to get it to the shop.

Jerry,

If you can't get your 5 racers, consider coming down to Buttonwillow in April instead. That will get us over 10 racers and give you someone to race with.

Posted

Tim,

We talked about it but being honest (at least for me) the tow down to you guys would just bust my (limited) racing budget for this year. I believe with the adition of Todd we have our 5 that we needed.

(I will make it down to SoCal to race at some point -- just not sure when)

I have accepted a generous offer from Ken to use his car for this race. I have booked my flight and will be arriving in Oakland at noon on Friday and will be trackside friday evening. Looking forward to it.

if anyone is up to sharing a hotel room let me know.

With you added I believe so. Locals should be Rick Lofgren, Me, Sid Lee and Ron Dale from what I hear.

Damn ! there goes my chance for 1st

Be good to see you -- missed being at the last 2 races

Yes I will be there too. Thank God the weather forecast calls for cooler weather this weekend. Hopefully it doesn't rain like our last race.

Posted

I am going to book my hotel room. is anyone interested is sharing a room.

Posted

I'll be camping at the track -- hopefully wont have terrible weather despite what Sid likes !

Posted

I'll be camping at the track too. I bought one of those foam mats from Costco for around $50 and will try it out. I'll be there Friday evening probably around 9-10pm.

Just got back from Laguna Seca a few weeks ago with raining conditions and it was kind of fun. I think I am ok with bad weather now, at least in my red 944.

Todd,

I might consider sharing the room on Saturday night if I don't get a good nights sleep on my portable bed for my suv. I'll let you know Saturday if nobody takes your offer first.

PS. We are all signed up under NASA Group A Racing with the 944 Spec but are we running with the PRC in Group D?

Posted

I'm planning to get there around 3:30 - 4:30. I see in the paddock map they have reserved space with the PRC for us so I plan to be down there -- If I can I'll grab space for 5 cars. Best guess it will be 3 camping (Me Sid ,and Ron) and 2 in the hotel (Todd and Rick).

Hi Guys,

You will be running in Group D with the PRC. Wish I could join you.

As most of you know the black tie UP wrap party is this weekend which takes three of us out from the race including myself.

Have a fun and safe race everyone!

just signed up and booked the hotel. As usual, i am bringing the official professional photographer, David to get action shots. Anyone interested in the supersize? I did it at Sears Point, it runs with Group A. Double your track time for only $50 more. We map to GTS1, and would most likely start at the tail end of a bunch of PRC 911s. The only downside is the last race of the day on sunday, or else we're done by about 2:00.

p.s. todd, i think i would be camping too, but my traveling companion must have cable tv and a bed. there are good facilities at thunderhill including showers. sleep in ken's car with your HANS on!

Is anyone staying at the Baymont Inn? They have a hot tub and swimming pool. Wouldn't mind sitting in the hot tubs on Saturday after dinner. Bring your swim shorts just in case.

Not going to supersize but for $50 more to double your track time, that is a good deal.

Accuweather calls for beautiful weather from the low to mid 70's.

I am booking my troom at the baymont today. You guys are welcome to come over after dinner.

Rick

Let me check with Ken but I am interested in supersizing to get the maximum track time but it is ken's car.

Hey Todd,

It was great meeting and racing against you. I had a lot of fun. Thanks again for coming out to NorCal and giving us a great race. I definitely improved because of you.

I am sure Ken will appreciate the adjustment that you made to his car and turning a 2:12.xxx during qualifying on the 2nd day.
