dejablu311
Well I have decided to sell my time trial car. It is a 98 M3 in alpine white/magma with 95k on the odo. It was built throughout last year to the limit of NASA TTC rules. It won several events last year and claimed 5 track records. It also managed 3rd at NASA Nationals in TTC. The list of mods are as follows: Suspension Moton 2-way race dampers H&R 2.5" springs 1000lb. rear and 950lbs. front Ground Control race camber plates UUC Sways X-Brace Delrin FCAB Aero Max Velocity EvoII front splitter Bimmerworld carbon fiber canards Bimmerworld IP wing Engine/Drivetrain K&N CAI UUC Evo 3 SSK AA Cat back exhaust UUC Stage II aluminum flywheel and clutch Diffsonline 3 clutch variable ramp Limited slip RMS coated 3.73 gears TMS solid diff bushings Interior Kirk bolt in 4 point roll bar (powder coated white) Momo type 78 steering wheel Bimmerworld hub adapter Carbon fiber sunroof panel Brakes Motorsport floating front rotors Bimmerworld Brake cooling kit w/backing plate Carbotech pads Cooling Samco hose kit Fluidyne radiator Removed Seats Trunk trim Rear carpet Sunroof cassette Entire AC system All cooling fans (still have clutch fan for Barber and Road A in the summer) The car is still perfectly street legal and actually surprisingly comfortable. I spent 10 hours non stop in the car for a cruise down to Wilmington and back and was perfectly comfortable. The car still has the entire interior from the front seats forward (minus the seats themselves), Power windows and door locks, cruise control, and 18 button OBC, HID headlights. It has a full stereo with brand new Pioneer ipod capable head unit but the system does not work because it was hooked up to an aftermarket amp which i have removed. I never bothered to try to get the sound system working again. The car comes with a set of 18" BBS RK's in silver and 2 sets of Kosei K1's in silver. The BBS's have a set of Pirelli's on them. One set of Koseis have a set of Nitto NT01's with 6 heat cycles on them. The car Currently has an OMP race seat in it but that will not be included in the sale. However, i do still have the full set of original powered magma seats that i would be willing to throw in with the car. The car is very strong. I recently dynoed it and it managed 218 whp (dyno Dynamics). Incredible power numbers for such a lightly modified E36 M3. This car is perfect for someone looking to get into NASA TT or a great start for GTS Class racing. Asking 16,500 Feel free to ask any questions. I'm sure there is a lot I forgot to mention. Here are some pics. Most of the decals are off now. The first shots show how it looks now. Edited April 14, 2009 by Guest
DanG
I'm considering a car like this for HPDE and beyond. Can you give me an idea what it would cost to run this car for 1-year with about 8-10 track days? Considering worn part replacement, fluids, etc. Thanks! dejablu311
I'm considering a car like this for HPDE and beyond. Can you give me an idea what it would cost to run this car for 1-year with about 8-10 track days? Considering worn part replacement, fluids, etc. Thanks! Completely depends on tire and brake pad choice as well as the track. CMP is very hard on brakes and tires. I have gone through a set of front pads in a weekend there. However, I could get several weekends on my pads at a track like Road A. If you use Hoosiers you will only get 2 weekends out of them before the performance falls off but a set of toyos or nittos will last several weekends. Rotors will probably last the whole year and again cost depends on rotor choice. Motorsport full floaters are expensive but brembo blanks are very reasonable. I would say if you do 8-10 weekends look to buy about 200 gallons of gas, 1 set of rotors, 3 sets of front pads, 2 sets of rear pads, 2-3 sets of tires, 20 quarts of oil, 2 quarts of tranny fluid, 4 quarts of diff fluid and that should do it.
