944-Spec#94 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 any one else? we need one more for toyo bucks it would be cool to get 10 cars. Hey make the tow to Phoenix May 2nd & 3rd and we will have 20+ 944's and our own 944 only run group! We pay Toyo to 10th in Arizona too. Quote
Tim Comeau Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Jim, et al, My name has been replaced by Mr. Thomas Atteberry's again. He had such a great time running my 944 with you guys at Cal Speedway that he has committed to buying his own seat, which I mounted in the 944 today. He'll be renting this season. Chris Allen said, today, that he would make one day for sure, maybe 2 days. Another new guy, John Niedernhofer, who was with us in his stone gray 944 at the last Willow Springs HPDE, has purchased Tracy Goodenough's 944 from the AZ SCCA group and had it shipped to my shop in San Diego. We'll be grooming the car for him. He'll be racing with us soon enough because he's already earned his wheel to wheel license. SOCAL IS EXPLODING WITH 944 DRIVERS! YEAH, BABY, YEAH! Quote
Tim Comeau Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Hey! I'd be watching out for that HOHLER guy! Damn series points leader! He's no Dee-da-Dee driver! Looking forward to another great cookout and campout this weekend! 944 Spec RULES! ONE WORLD. ONE CLASS. 944 SPEC. Quote
cbuzz Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Tim I will be there Sunday only. BTW thanks for getting the Toyo Bucks to Toyo so quickly, I got my certificate this week. Just in time to buy some new skins. Charlie Quote
Tim Comeau Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 Hey, honestly, it's my pleasure to serve this class! This class is the absolute coolest thing to come along in Porsche racing in a very long time. Precisely why I have invested so emotionally and heavily at that, into it. I got my big TOYO check today too. I'll be buying a set of RA-1's for my rental car because they last longer, but not for Nationals. Chris Allen reported that he'd be there for one of the two days as well. Still waiting for Jim Richmond to call me back with his plans. CRE just took in the ex-AZ SCCA car of Tracy Goodenough and removed the bolt-in cage. The new owner, John Niedernhofer wants a stronger, custom cage welded in. I feel kinda bad but we've moved quite a few 944's from the AZ group to the SoCal group! Tom Stone - to Comeau Racing Enterprises Dennis Campbell- to Bill Addy, then Chris Allen Paul Bloomberg - to Pete Yousko Tracy Goodenough - John Niedernhofer Tyler Thompson - ? can't recall. Jim Marks? Anyway, at least they're being raced again, which is what every Porsche car dreams of......not that mundane street use, commuting stuff. No, every Porsche wants to be a race car! Quote
Tim Comeau Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 BTW, Nick Perdikaris Sean Steele Greg Trigeiro Chuck Sharp are all regularly attending the San Diego PCA DE and TT events. SoCal is getting ready to stage big fields at the races........ Quote
Tim Comeau Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 Ok, Charlie Buzzetti and Chris Allen will both be racing on Sunday only! .....and just found out John Niedernhofer will be attending the Driving Concepts racing school for a refresher in May at Willow Springs. Quote
