Historical milestone for PDG

For those that are not familier with te Factory Five GTM, This is the only full race version of their Supercar, " the fastest street car you can build in your garage". We made our first ever apperance At Infineon Raceway for the SCCA Regional opener. David Ray was our featered driver for the weekend. 11 cars staged for the Super Production class. We were the lowest horsepowered entry as we gave up over 300 HP to the competitors. We drew alot attention the moment we opened the trailer! No less that 6 people hanged around the car throughout the day. It is definately a magnet! David went out for qualifying and to our surprise with the overwhelming horse power disadvantage, he managed a respectable 4th fastest, not to far out of 2nd. The race was very exciting as David got hit by a stock car going into turn one, lost a few positions and continued on. By lap 2, he was back into 4th and putting pressure on a 600HP NSX. He managed to pass the NSX a couple of times during the race but couldn't get enough distance between them at the straight. By lap 7, the 72 car, in second broke a gearbox and moved us to third place where we stayed to the checkers. First time with SCCA and a podeum finish! A reminder that this car was never intended by Factory Five to be a race car at all. We havve proven that it can be a serious track car or competitor with exotic looks and appeal without the 6 figure price tag! Every race has been uncharted territory for this car. The aero package that we developed drew some important regignition during that weekend and in SCCA, a force to be taken seriously. Our strong point is our areo development and our week point is HP!
