Looking at different tires this weekend it seemed we had 2 different shapes of R888's ? The new batch we got last month seem to be larger than the last years tires ???

We did not talk about this till we were have our victort party so no hard data ... we will look into it.

Interesting.

I currently have 3 sets of R888.

Set 1 I got about a year ago and are used up, but I still have them.

Set 2 I got early this year and I am still racing on them

Set 3 I just picked up a week ago.

I guess I will compare all 3 to see if there is any difference.

Look @ the DOT date codes. The last 4 digits indicate when they were made. 0407 = 4th week of '07

I have date codes from all over on those 3 sets. No difference in the tires that I could see.

Ok, I finally got pictures.

Here are my 3 sets of R888's which represent a wide range of dates.

I don't notice anything different.

New, part used, worn.

Data Codes

Old Worn = 34th week, 07 - Purchased Spring 2008, Used Sept 2008-March 09 (worn after 14 heat cycles)

Used = 30th week , 08 - Purchased Jan 2009 , Used Jan 2009- Current (pics taked after 10 HC)

New = 08th week , 09 - Purchased April 2009, Used once May 2009

All 3 Stacked up next to each other.
