It has me thinking......How hard is Barber on brakes as in Road Atlanta 10A braking zone being a '10'.

Road Atlanta is easy on brakes I think

 

you'll see lower top speeds, but you'll be on the brakes a little more often per lap (imo). dunno....

If you are as slow as me, not that bad on brakes!

 

Also it is the shortest NASA trip of the year for Dad and I (from Memphis, TN).

Barber is harder on brakes than RA. Not a lot of time for them to cool

Good, a great track to put the nail in the coffin on my existing set of pads and allow an upgrade to the new Hawk DTC stuff.

Katie cracked 3 rotors at CMP. I expect the same or worse at Barber.

are you moving the car around a little after a session? I remember DeSalvo moving his 'vette (and Mustang actually) so that the caliper doesn't sit over the same area of the rotor after a session. Like wait 5min, roll it forward or back a little, wait 5 more min and move again, etc. Seemed to help..??

2 were new at Rd Atl, 1 was new this weekend. I'll try moving the car around. Have gotten out of the habit.

I'm new to the forum and after a quick look thru the indexes I saw no way to inform people of a pending slot being available.

 

I may have to back out of my Barber slot due to work. Is there a specific forum for this "buy/sell track day dates" for instance or is it best to post here in this thread and/or create a new post?

Ill be there, Im really looking forward to this one.

 

i saw a photo of the Control tower there.... it looks like a prison

 

its actually very nice, bottom level is garage/tech, second floor has a huge open room that we had the year end banquet in for 08. Next level is timing, there are cameras all around the track and they can see just about everything, and on top is the best spotter area I have ever seen.
