bpanther Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Saturday night should be a good party. While we are talking smack about racing and which region (TX/RM/MW) has the best drivers - any interest in making the "pot" a little sweeter? I was thinking we'd have a little chili cook-off. Texas obviously comes in as the most likely winner, but let's have the judges decide. Who's in? Bring/make/buy your best small pot or crock pot of chili. Not a whole lot - maybe about 3-4 cups. You can cook it on a portable stove, heat it in the microwave or we can setup a table in the registration building for crock pots. Three categories. Best Red, Best Green and Best Alternative. Quote
tacovini Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 This is a trick, boys & girls. Dave makes a mean bowl of chili and is quite the cook. Be very cautious here. Quote
ST#97 Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 My alternative chili will be loaded with turbolax! Quote
bpanther Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 This is a trick, boys & girls.Dave makes a mean bowl of chili and is quite the cook. Be very cautious here. Nah.... I'm staying out of this one. I know to not mess w/TX. For Hallett I'm doing the pork loin (got rave reviews last weekend), sausages, tri-tip, salads, etc Since we don't need to bring all the flags, fire bottles, scales, cones, etc to OK - we're making room in the trailer for an extra refrigerator!!! Hopefully Tommy Schlender is bringing Papa Mike to lend a hand. Did I mention the only reason we started a NASA chapter was so that we could sit around, eat BBQ and drink beer? Someone suggested racing while we were at it. Quote
jeffburch Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Note to self, refill Nexium spript. I love chili. Prefer red/meaty. I presently have some left over chorizo chili con carne from Rosas' Cafe and Tortilla Factory in the fridge. Mmmm Mm. And speaking of, it's not uncommon for it to be a little cool so don't forget a set of long sleaves. We had to make a run for warm clothing one year. Doh. jb Quote

koserv Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Probably fuel on the fire (or fodder for a new thread), but any chance those making the show can post up tire choice? I know some haven't even tried the 8's yet and some don't have any RA's to run. It should be a great pre-Utah look at what's what. I'm hoping an 8 smokes the field so those of us who are floundering can see some light at the end of the tunnel (straight? kink? paddock?). I'll be rooting for the MW boys to "give'er", and for a safe weekend for all....pointy end forward gentlemen! KO Quote

CMC#11 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I am bringing a set of 4 heat cycle 888s. Regarding the 888's vs. RA1 question: I also have a set of heat cycled 888's and a set of RA1's. I plan to do some back to back runs to see time differential. I have run the 888's for 3 sessions and my initial impression is not good. We'll see how things shake out this weekend! Quote
Sidney Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I'll be on "Thin to Win" RA1's with a new shaved set in the trailer if I start to see cords. Only chance of using my R888's if it's raining! Sidney CMC #64 Quote
