vbspec
Hey guys I've picked up a 2001 Integra GSR that was prepped and races in H2 by its previous owner. I will be hopefully racing the car after going thru comp school next year. That all being said I picked up a set of Koni Challenge Hoosiers from Tuner Motorsports to run untill I take the school. They are from what I've heard close to an RA1 as far as grip and tread life and are about .5 inch wider than a set of 225-45-15 RA1's I have. So my question is what is a good starting point as far as ride height. I have them mounted on +40MM ofset 17x7.5 wheels. This weekend I rolled the rear fenders and raised the car about and inch. (I need to get the measurements form the ground to the rocker panel). I did have to trim the rear bumper just a bit. Up front I took off the spring and raised the tire all the way up into the fender untill it bottomed out. I then lowered the wheel 1/4 inch and tried to turn the wheel after adding 4 3MM spacers I could get 2 full turns of steering... thats one short compaired to running 225-45-15's. So before I go and get the massage hammer and go to town on the car I figured I ask the group. 1. Starting point for ride height? 2. Can I legally knock the inner fender back a little to get some more clearance. Any insight on this would be great. Thanx much and I'll see the EC guys at Hyperfest in a few weeks. EJO
Are you talking about the plastic inner fender? If so just rip it out all together. You can't hammer out the fender to make it wider. Most guys are running 15" or 16" rims, I just purchased a set of 16's to test them out but I think 17's are too big. Richard Hunter, who finished 2nd at Nationals last year, will be at HyperFizzle with his Integra. Ask him if he has tried 17's and what he may have done to make them work. Brian Casella runs an Integra in the Northeast, he may be able to answer a few questions as well. Be sure to stop by the Honda-Challenge paddock at HyperFest, you can't miss it, it's the one with all the Hondas'.
vbspec
I'll be sure to swing buy. I'm freind with Perera, Dave Martin and Keith Edwards. But what 16's are guys running? I know Edo ran the 245's last year and may still be running them. I know John Whitiker is running 17 inch Hoosiers and Matt Lang ran them on his Integra as well. I think I just need to raise the car a touch more. I'll get measure the tires when I get home to see exactly how tall and wide they are. I have to admit they look good on the car. To bad what looks good and what works dont always go hand in hand...
EJO
Yes John is running the Enkei RPF1's in 17". He is also running a K20 swap which may make a difference from a GSR but you'll have to test it out like what I'm doing going from 15" to 16". George Knighton might be at Hyperfest with his Integra, you can ask him if he has ever tried 17" vs. 16". See ya at the Fizzle.
vbspec
I still cant see why these dont want to fit. They are 24 3/8 tall and only 9 1/4 wide. That should be right about the same as Toyo's. Well it looks like I'll be switching back to the 15's oh well. I got the wheels and tire for cheap so I wont loose out too much.
slammed_93_hatch
On the cars that i have seen run these they are all very high. And they can not actually go lock to lock.

How much suspension travel should I be looking for? Is 2 inches ok or should I be looking for more?
EJO
One thing I forgot to mention is that you can't run a 7.5 wheel in H2. It can be a max of 7 in H2 - H5.
badass55
I was able to put 235/40/17 r888 under my civic i had a little rub under bumps and in the rear. i did not know about the rub in the rear until i pulled the back end apart to prep for the next race. i was at 23.5 and i tink i might go up to 24, but i have some new spring to try first. and i never needed lock to lock on the track. ill get some pics up when i find the camera.
