kbrew8991 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 fee goes up a little bit in a few days btw... who else is in besides me? - KB in TTF Quote
RACER-X Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I think most won't make the trip. I'm sure there will be a few but that is a real long haul. I know I won't be there. Mid Ohio is in the middle of the country's population. Good luck! Quote
DanSTi Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Wish I could do it but 2100 miles is a longgg way to go for a weekend of TT. Quote
National Staff Greg G. Posted May 30, 2009 National Staff Posted May 30, 2009 For three years, we traveled 2400 miles from SoCal to Mid-Ohio. You guys can't do it once or twice (and with a shorter distance)? Quote
RACER-X Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Sorry, no. Not with the economy the way it is and gas prices going up again. At least not this year. Quote
kbrew8991 Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Wish I could do it but 2100 miles is a longgg way to go for a weekend of TT. 3 days worth, but who's counting Quote
Mrsideways Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 When does the Fee go up. I need another paycheck before I can register. (the last pay check evaporated out of my account before I even saw it). Quote
Mrsideways Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 DOH.. just saw it... a. $499 until May 31st, 2009 b. $599 until July 31st, 2009 c. $699 until August 31st, 2009 d. $299 “Supersize” fee for second race entry. e. $999 Late Entry Fee after September 1, 2009. Guess I'm used to late fee's only being imposed when you register withing a week or two of the event. Quote
kbrew8991 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 hmm, thats not whats on the registration page here: https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/952 before May 31 - $499 before June 30 - $549 before July 31 - $599 before Aug 31 - $699 cancel within the guidelines and you get it all back less $50 though.. so get it in early I can't say that I like it either, but it has been consitent at least since they started doing this in '06. I'd be curious as to the reasoning behind it though... Quote
National Staff Greg G. Posted June 2, 2009 National Staff Posted June 2, 2009 This is obviously not a regular "big" event, or a simple event to plan, organize, and successfully complete. It is very helpful to start getting an idea of how many competitors there will be, in which classes, how many Supersizers, etc months before the event itself. The problem with making a schedule is all of those that wait to register until August (or even Sept). Until we have accurate car counts, we don't know how many Officials and Staff are needed, how big meeting locations need to be, how many run groups are needed, etc. So, the best way to encourage drivers to sign up early is to have an increasing fee schedule the longer one waits. phoenixR34 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I'm just excited that I get to share a run session with the legendary Ken Brewer! Quote
underpressure Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Will show up w/ the GT-R. Maybe TTS trim, maybe TTU. maybe both..... unless Targa comes in. Then might miss the fun at Miller. Quote
Mrsideways Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Will, you thinkin of doing the targa? I think we're trying for 2010. Probably in something quite slow. Quote
bpanther Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Bump..... ya'll better get a move on. I am about to put TTB-TTF in with the big kids. I can't justify having a seperate group for 17 and 22 cars on a 3.0 mile track. Quote

I can't justify having a seperate group for 17 and 22 cars on a 3.0 mile track. I signed up, did that help? Race groups don't look any better? What happened to all these west coasters that were going to fill the TT ranks? Maybe we should look at going back to Mid-O for 2010 Quote
jason Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Maybe we should look at going back to Mid-O for 2010 2nd Quote
kbrew8991 Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 why, so we can have the economy kill the fields there too? Its set to return to Mid-O for 2011 & 2012 for what its worth already. I'd be lobbying to set the location for 2013 & 2014 myself since those likely aren't in stone yet.... its 2600mi to MidO & back, 3200mi to Miller & back for me, so yippie on that one... I'm looking forward to the new track, but I do love Mid-O too Quote
jason Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 or VIR Full... i could make that compromise. Quote

I'm looking forward to the new track, but I do love Mid-O too Economy was bad last year also & Mid Ohio is in the center of the US population base, although Rd Atlanta would be cool, VIR seeems a little far East but I would attend. drivinhardz06 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 the location for 2013 & 2014 Rd Atl x2. VIR would be really cool also Gonna try to drag the family out to Utah next summer, that's the plan anyway. Not sure the cost to go to Utah would be all that much less than going to OH. A few more days time maybe. If you're hauling out multiple sets of sticker tires/wheels, boxes of brake pads and such, what's a little more gas and a few more hotels Quote
Mrsideways Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 The problem is there are no truely good tracks right smack in the middle of the country. I loved heartland park for the runoffs last year. But most people hated it. Hence why the SCCA moved to the Drag Strip known as road america. Quote
