Rollcage for TT... necessary?

Recommended Posts

Is a rollcage necessary for TT? I currently have a rollbar (autopower bolt-in 4 point w/ harness bar)...

If you can run TT without a cage, then I might be a new participant in TT-D...

However, what else do i have to do? Just sign up for the TT group at each event?

any car that can participate in HPDE can participate in TT. You don't need a roll bar or a roll cage

Driven,

if you want to compete for the season championship youmust class your car. Simply fill out the classification form and turn it in to me at any event. Next yesr there will be a new Director. you will find him at the driver meetings.

You will also need a transponder. All rules for HPDE apply including download meetings.

Hey, not so quick Steve. I'm sure that this fellow from Las Vegas is looking to run with SoCal . Like Steve said, just send me your e-mail address, and I'll get you on our e-mail list so that you get updated info regularly regarding SoCal TT. You must fill out a classification sheet at the beginning of the year to make sure that your car fits into TTD. You can use the TT calculator on the Nasa TT website as an estimate for now, but we will be making some rule changes over the next month. So, your classification could possibly change at that time depending on your mods. Actually, it is possible for you to run in both regions if you'd like, but the points you earn will not cross over between regions unless we have a designated "crossover" event where there is dual hosting by NorCal and SoCal. Currently, there are no crossover events planned, but I do want to take the SoCal TT guys up to NorCal for at least one event this year, even if the rest of the SoCal race groups don't have a crossover event. We will be running at Willow Springs, Buttonwillow, and California Speedway in the SoCal region. It looks like NorCal will be running at Thunderhill and Infineon (according to the tentative schedule).

Steve,

Sorry to see you leave TT, but understand your other racing commitments. It appears there are very few NorCal folks still doing TT -- I think they have moved on to racing (they'll be back as soon as they realize how expensive it can be to race as a front runner)

As far as a combined event, that sounds good, I plan to do Fontana (if they run the oval & infield configuration). A good middle point for both NorCal & SoCal is probably ButtonWillow.

Any hints as to who might be taking over TT NorCal next year?

Rob.

Looks like I'll be joining TT next year...

I'll have to sign-up for the SoCal region... Nevada region doesn't really exist.
