NASCAR Front Splitters - (4)

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have four NASCAR front splitters - two from Jeff Gordon, in very good condition. Looks like carbon fiber; however, I'm fairly certain its a dark fiberglass. I was going to use these then ditched the idea on my Sentra. I'll have pictures up when I return from Lowes on Saturday.

Asking $175 for all 4 splitters.

any chance you could bring one to lms tomorrow? I would like to check fit.

Sure, I'll bring it. Look for the black Titan in the camp area.. or Silver Sentra 72 in the garages.

I would love to see some pics when you can post them. And if not too much trouble the size and thickness would be nice.

These are not Fiberglass but I don't remember the exact compound NASCAR used. I got a Composites trade magazine last year that talked about the material used. It's not Carbon or Fiberglass but something light weight, fireproof, and doesn't splinter. I'm guessing these are several thousands of dollars new.

Dimensions would be sweet and a pic or two if you can.... Thanks!

I think you are right.. they arent carbon or fiberglass but lightweight and no splinters anywhere. I'm selling these as a full set (all four). Someone's going to get a good deal.

The bottom splitter is on its back (its blue on top). But they all have similar scrapes on the bottom. Light surface..no cracks. I'll have to check dimensions on Monday.

Ok - the dimensions are:

72" length, from side to side, measured at the widest point - bottom edge

7 1/4" width, measured at the center, material only

~20" in depth, measured at the center to the bottom edge line.

The length is obvious and I assume the width is front-to-back. Can you explain the 20" depth? Or did you mean 0.20" thickness?

Or 20" front-to-back from the front center to rear at outer edges?

If you consider the splitter to cover a 1/2 circle, the 20" is the radius.

Joe,

I'll take them. I can get them at the August NASA race or at VIR at the end of this month if you are heading up there. Drop me a pm.

Tim, I've got three left and you're welcome to them. I'll be at RA - see you there. PM sent.
