1979 Porsche 911 widebody - NASA GTS3

Dark blue exterior with custom vinyl graphics and black interior. Several years and hundreds of hours have gone into the development of this car. Meticulously maintained and extremely clean. Race preparation and all rebuilds performed by Motorwerks Racing (http://www.motorwerksracing.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for additional photos). Originally campaigned in PCA as Prepared E Class, some PBOC R5 and most recently NASA GTS3 trim. No expense spared!

Podium car in PCA E, NASA GTS3, PBOC R5

- 2004 NASA-SE GTS4 Champion

- 2005 NASA-SE GTS3 Champion, PCA Road Atlanta sprint E-class pole, finished 3rd

- 2006 PCA Road Atlanta sprint E-class pole, finished 1st

- 2007 NASA-SE GTS3 Champion, PCA Road Atlanta sprint E-class, finished 3rd

- Road Atlanta best 1:39.3 (PCA E-class prep with torsion bar suspension), last event 3/08

 

Engine

3.0 dyno tuned with oil fed tensioners (complete rebuild 3/05) HP 235+ to wheels, 46 IDA Webers, Electromotive crank fire ignition(new coil packs), custom plug wires, equal-length inconel tube headers, open pipes and muffler incl., solid engine/trans mounts, sport clutch with race pressure plate, large Fluidyne front mount oil cooler, SS oil and fuel lines w/AN fittings, custom sump cover with drain

 

Transmission

915 RSR spec close ratio (rebuilt 5/06), PH II gears, 2nd thru 5th, chromoly limited slip with 80% lock (refresh 5/07), factory short shift kit with Robotek and Apex coupler

 

Suspension

New coil-over suspension (5/08) with Bilstein factory RSR type front and rear shocks – raised spindles and custom shock valving (HD torsion bars included). Extremely tunable to any driver style. Smart Racing F/R sway bars, tub reinforcement, turbo tie rod ends with geometry correction kit, hard mount A arm bushings / needle bearings, new front control arms (5/07) solid banana arm bushings with spherical bearings, custom triangulated front strut bar, 993 twin turbo Big Red calipers (new 5/07) in front with gas slotted rotors and floating hats, 911 Turbo calipers in rear with cross drilled rotors, SS brake lines, ATE Super Blue fluid

 

Body

Steel fendered widebody with custom vinyl graphics, clear Armor Guard on front nose, hood and fenders, IROC style front and rear fiberglass bumpers, carbon fiber front splitter and RS 3.8 carbon rear wing, Gurney Flap, painted lexan headlamp covers, 993 aero mirrors and door handles, lexan ¼ and rear windows, custom d-ring receivers in tub for tie-down

 

Interior

Welded full cage, SCCA, PCA and NASA legal, adjustable seat back brace, fire system, 5 lb mechanical pull, Sparco carbon fiber race seats (2), Schroth harness, 6-point, Simpson RH-side head restraint system, Momo steering wheel with quick release hub, Traqmate data acquisition (5/09), Halmeter AF gauge, VDO 10,000 rpm tach, mechanical oil and fuel pressure gauges, cage mounted window net, carbon fiber dash trim, RSR door panels and carpeting (no rear seats), wired for radio with 3db stub antennae, Cool Suit system and cam mount

 

Fuel System

ATL 15 gal cell, new foam, dual Holley fuel pumps / filters, road racing slosh box with dual pickups, dash mounted fuel level gauge, check valves and rollover protection

 

Wheels / Tires

(2 sets) Fikse 17x8 and 17x10, (1 set) CCW blk ctr 17x8.5 and 17x10, (1 set) New Kumho V710s (245/275) mounted on Fikses

 

Spares (available)

Thousands invested on large assortment of spare parts needed for virtually any trackside mechanical repair (inquire), Anderson 16’ open steel trailer w/new tires/wheels also available

Although I hate that we are losing Mike (hopefully he will be back), I have to vouch for him and for this car. Having raced against and having been beaten by this car I can tell you this is a VERY GOOD CAR!
